Getting to know Andrea

I'm Andrea Turnipseed, LCSW-S, a therapist, supervisor, and behavioral health consultant in Austin, Texas.

For more than 16 years, I've helped adults navigate anxiety, relationships, burnout, life transitions, and the feeling that something needs to change.

My approach is warm, thoughtful, and relational. I believe therapy should help you understand yourself more deeply while also giving you practical ways to move forward.

You don't have to have everything figured out before you come to therapy. Sometimes you simply know that the way things are going isn't working anymore.

My work has also given me a unique perspective on leadership, business, and behavioral health.

In 2015, I co-founded Roots Behavioral Health and helped grow it from a startup into a multi-location psychiatric and psychotherapy practice with more than 50 employees and over $7 million in annual revenue. We became the first practice in Texas to offer insurance-based ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, ultimately delivering more than 7,000 sessions.

I later negotiated the sale of the company to private equity and remained involved through my 2025 exit.

Today, I bring that experience into both my therapy and consulting work. I understand what it means to build something, carry a lot of responsibility, navigate change, and sometimes wonder what comes next.

I've also been a board-approved clinical supervisor for more than a decade, supporting clinicians as they develop their skills and careers.

Why Invest in Yourself?

You don't have to wait until things are falling apart to ask for help.

Many of my clients are capable and used to handling things on their own. Therapy offers a space to step back, gain perspective, and make changes before problems become overwhelming.

The same is true in consulting. An experienced outside perspective can help you see your practice more clearly and make better decisions about what's next.

Investing in yourself or your business doesn't have to wait for a crisis.
